Looking for a property manager

I have a 3br./2ba. house on a lake in SE Wisconsin and I seem to be having a bugger of a time finding a property manager – seeing as I am 4 hrs. away and don’t really want to manage it myself. Any hints on finding a solid professional property manager in that area?

I personally do my own, but here are a few tips:

  1. Ask other investors in the area for referrals
  2. Interview the property managers
  3. Narrow the list and drive by the houses they are managing, ask if you can contact the owners for a personal referral.
